Family Planning

Cryobank America: Did you always know you wanted kids?

Brianna: My wife and I knew we wanted kids from the very beginning. We've been in a loving and committed relationship for over 10 years, and we finally welcomed twin baby girls in the summer of 2025. It was an absolute dream come true for us!

Cryobank America: How many kids do you hope to have?

Brianna: We'd like to have 3-4 children.

Vial Type and Quantity

Cryobank America: How many vials did you purchase, and what type?

Brianna: We purchased 12 vials, Premium IUI, and IUI ART.

Cryobank America: Did you purchase extra vials in anticipation of siblings?

Brianna: Yes.

Insemination Procedure

Cryobank America: Which procedure did you use?

Brianna: IUI (intrauterine insemination) and At-Home Insemination.

Cryobank America: Were you required to take any medications? Were there any side effects?

Brianna: My wife took medications during the IUI process, which caused her body to produce more eggs in a single cycle. Thankfully, she didn't have any notable side effects.

Cryobank America: How was the IUI procedure overall? Any ups or downs that stood out?

Brianna: It was nerve-wracking! Like the moment we've been waiting all these years for. Right before the doctor inseminated my wife, he asked me if I would like to be the one to administer the sperm via the IUI tube. That meant the world to me, that I was able to play an active role in conceiving our twins, and it's wild to think that we may have had diﬀerent babies otherwise!

Ovulation Tracking and Fertility

Cryobank America: Did you take any special steps to boost your fertility?

Brianna: My wife ate clean, whole foods. She didn't smoke or drink, took prenatals religiously, and kept stressors low. She maintained a positive mindset before and throughout her pregnancy, and we feel it made a huge diﬀerence in our overall success.

Cryobank America: How did you track ovulation?

Brianna: Possibly all of them! Period tracking apps such as Pre-Mom for at least a year in advance, ovulation sticks, and even digital tests.

Cryobank America: How long did you track ovulation before insemination?

Brianna: Over a year.

Pregnancy Journey

Cryobank America: Were there any standout experiences during pregnancy?

Brianna: Carrying 2 babies at once was certainly no walk in the park, but overall it was a positive experience. No one tells you that when you carry twins, you are categorized as a high-risk pregnancy out of the gate. Even though it was a perfectly normal and healthy pregnancy, she received ultrasounds at every single doctor visit. As worried first time moms, this really helped calm our nerves to see our babies thriving in there so frequently.

Cryobank America: How long did you wait to share the news of your pregnancy?

Brianna: At only 4.5 weeks we got a positive test, and at 6 weeks post insemination we found out it was twins! We couldn't wait to tell our family and friends and did so almost immediately. Everyone was shocked and thrilled!

Donor Conception

Cryobank America: Do you plan to tell your child they’re donor-conceived? If so, how and at what age?

Brianna: Yes, as soon as possible. We want their story to carry no shame, as they were conceived in complete love. We will regularly talk about their donor conception in an open and honest space. This way there is no "finding out" abruptly, because they will always just know exactly how our family was made.

Final Thoughts and Shared Inspiration

Cryobank America: If you could do anything differently in your journey, what would it be?

Brianna: Absolutely nothing! Our babies are perfect, and we couldn't have done it without the help of Cryobank America.

Cryobank America: Do you have any words of encouragement for others who are beginning their fertility journey?

Brianna: Try to take each step of the journey as it comes and resist the urge to focus on all the hurdles that may lie ahead. Instead, embrace each milestone, from choosing your donor to conception day, and allow yourself to find joy in the process. One day, when you're holding your baby (or babies) in your arms, your perspective shifts completely, and all that's left is an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the path that brought you there.
