Cryobank America maintains a global family limit of 25 families per donor. We track pregnancies and births through Birth Reporting and follow up with recipients when a pregnancy is suspected to help maintain accurate records.

Once a donor reaches the 25-family limit, they are permanently retired from our donor program and are no longer eligible to donate. Any remaining donor sperm is reserved for families with a confirmed birth who wish to have biological siblings using the same donor.

Cryobank America has several safeguards in place to help prevent donors from donating at multiple sperm banks.

Our donor program includes:

✔️ A thorough qualification process that verifies applicants have not previously donated to another sperm bank.

No. Cryobank America's 25-family limit applies worldwide, not by country.

Once a donor reaches 25 families globally, they are retired from the donor program regardless of where those pregnancies occurred. We do not continue selling that donor's sperm in another country after the global family limit has been reached.

Yes. Your Pregnancy Report and Birth Report are completely confidential and are used only for internal recordkeeping and communication with your family.

Submitting a Birth Report helps Cryobank America maintain accurate records for each donor, monitor our global family limit, and support responsible donor management. It also allows us to contact you if there are any important medical updates related to your donor, such as newly reported health information that may be relevant to you or your child.

Your information is never shared publicly and is handled with strict confidentiality. By completing your Pregnancy or Birth Report, you help us maintain the integrity of our donor program while ensuring your family receives important donor-related medical updates when necessary.

Yes. Cryobank America offers Cryobank America Circles, our private donor sibling registry designed to help connect families who have used the same sperm donor.

Once you submit your Birth Report, you will receive an invitation to join Cryobank America Circles. Through the registry, participating families can connect with others who share the same donor, exchange experiences, share updates, and build relationships if they choose.

Participation is completely voluntary, and members decide how much personal information they wish to share. Cryobank America Circles provides a secure, supportive community for donor-conceived families while respecting each family's privacy and individual preferences.

Cryobank America ships donor sperm in MVE liquid nitrogen dry shippers, which safely maintain cryogenic temperatures for up to seven days from the shipment date.

Most shipments within the United States are sent using overnight or two-day delivery through UPS or a local courier. We also offer discounted local delivery and pickup within the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Local pickups require at least 72 hours' notice.

Cryobank America maintains a highly selective donor qualification process. Donor applicants undergo comprehensive medical and family history reviews, physical examinations, semen analysis, genetic carrier screening, infectious disease testing, psychological evaluation, and additional health assessments before being accepted into our donor program.

Cryobank America offers a diverse selection of carefully screened sperm donors representing a wide range of ethnicities, physical characteristics, educational backgrounds, and personal interests. Our donor program emphasizes Open ID donors, allowing intended parents to choose from a broad selection of qualified donors.

Open ID donors agree to allow identifying information to be shared with donor-conceived offspring after they reach adulthood, if requested. Many intended parents choose Open ID donors to provide future opportunities for connection while maintaining privacy during childhood.

Donor availability changes as vials are purchased or donors retire from the program. If you're hoping to have future biological siblings, purchasing additional vials early and storing them through our Vial Vault Program may help preserve future family-building options. Yes. Cryobank America proudly supports LGBTQ+ individuals and couples throughout their family-building journey. The number of donor sperm vials you'll need depends on your fertility treatment, reproductive health, insemination timing, and future family-building goals. Individuals pursuing at-home insemination or intrauterine insemination (IUI) often purchase multiple Premium IUI or Premium ICI vials, while many IVF or ICSI cycles may require only a single ART/ICSI vial.

Many intended parents also purchase additional vials to prepare for multiple treatment cycles or to reserve donor sperm for future biological siblings. Yes. Cryobank America offers donor sperm delivery for eligible at-home insemination.

To purchase donor sperm, you'll first need a Free, Premium, or Premium Plus membership. Before shipment, you'll complete our Home Insemination Waiver. New York residents must also submit a signed Clinic Release Form before donor sperm can be shipped.

Yes. If you have a friend or family member who wishes to donate, our Directed Donor Program provides medical screening, laboratory processing, infectious disease testing, and cryogenic storage in accordance with FDA regulations.

Yes. Cryobank America ships donor sperm nationwide to fertility clinics and, when appropriate, directly to intended parents for eligible at-home insemination procedures.

Cryobank America processes donor sperm using a density gradient separation method, an advanced laboratory technique designed to isolate the healthiest motile sperm cells.

Although this process requires additional laboratory time, it helps remove many abnormal cells while preparing higher-quality specimens for fertility treatment. Proper processing may also help reduce cramping that can occasionally occur following insemination.

Donor profiles may include childhood photos, physical characteristics, ethnicity, education, occupation, hobbies, personality information, family medical history, audio interviews, and genetic carrier screening results. Available profile information may vary by donor.

CMV (cytomegalovirus) is a common virus that most adults have been exposed to. Donor profiles include CMV status to help intended parents and their healthcare providers select an appropriate donor based on individual medical recommendations. Cryobank America donors undergo a comprehensive genetic carrier screening for 560 genetic conditions through Natera Horizon, in addition to medical history reviews and infectious disease testing. Genetic screening helps identify whether a donor carries certain inherited genetic conditions and provides intended parents with valuable information during donor selection.

Please note: Donors released after July 28, 2025, have been tested using Natera’s Horizon Carrier Screen, which screens for 560 genetic conditions.

As of July 22, 2024, all donors were tested with the Myriad Foresight Carrier Screen for 266 genetic conditions.

Donors released before July 22, 2024, were screened using the Myriad Foresight Carrier Screen for 175 genetic conditions.

Yes. While childhood photos are available for all donors as part of their sperm donor profiles, adult photos may also be available to Premium Plus members for participating donors.
