2. Package Summary. Your summary will list everything included in your order, including the vial type, quantity, and total purchase amount. It will also include laboratory information regarding your specimen’s sperm count and post-thaw motility.
3. Infectious Disease Report. This documentation includes your selected donor’s most recent infectious and non-infectious disease screening results, helping provide transparency and important health information about your donor.
4. Complete Instructions. Detailed instructions will guide you through handling the dry shipper, thawing your specimen, performing insemination, and returning the shipping container after use.
5. Prepaid Return Shipping Materials. Your shipment will include the necessary return documentation and shipping materials to send the dry shipper back to Cryobank America once insemination is complete.

How Is Donor Sperm Shipped?
Before Cryobank America can ship your vials, you must complete some forms. For at-home insemination, we require our Home Insemination Waiver to be signed. If you are a New York resident who plans to do home insemination, you must complete our Home Insemination Waiver and have a Clinic Release form signed by a fertility specialist, OBG-YN, or treating physician. All clients and, if applicable, their spouses must sign our Customer Account Agreement.
Vial Transportation
Frozen donor sperm is transported using specialized cryogenic shipping containers called dry shippers. These containers are designed specifically for the transportation of reproductive specimens and maintain temperatures of approximately -150°C or colder throughout transit.
Each dry shipper is prepared within our laboratory before shipment and placed inside a protective outer container to help safeguard the specimen during transportation.
This allows donor sperm to be delivered safely to private residences, fertility clinics, and reproductive centers while preserving specimen quality and viability.
Flexible Shipping Options

Timing Your At-Home Insemination
Proper timing is one of the most important factors affecting the success of conception. You have seven days from the shipment date to complete the insertion. If shipping your vials and accompanying equipment takes two days, you will have five days to perform at-home insemination.
We generally recommend tracking ovulation with ovulation predictor kits (OPKs), which detect luteinizing hormone (LH) surges and provide more precise timing than fertility-tracking applications alone.
Many intended parents perform insemination shortly before ovulation, during the LH surge, or on the day of ovulation to help maximize the chances of fertilization.
