There are many reasons why a person may want or need to cryopreserve their semen. It is recommended that all men should preserve their future fertility. No matter what you do for a living, there are many dangers that may reduce or permanently prevent fertility. Invest in your future, invest in your most important bank account at Cryobank America.

*Each additional collection is $100

Cryobank America recommends the following groups consider storing their sperm for potential future use:

  • Urological patients
  • Pre-vasectomy patients
  • Gender reassignment patients
  • Severe illness patients
  • Cancer patients (Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s, Prostate, and Testicular)
  • Pre-chemotherapy/radiology patients
  • Military/Police/Firefighter/EMT Personnel
  • High-risk Professionals
  • Working Professionals

Getting Started

The first step to preserving your fertile future is by making an appointment to visit our laboratory to complete a complete semen analysis. This step will allow for Cryobank America to make a determination for the ability of cryopreservation of your specimen. For more information regarding this step, please visit our Semen Analysis page.

*Cancer patients may be able to waive the semen analysis step. Please contact us for more information.

Collection Notes

Each collection includes the processing by gradient separation and cryopreservation of that given sample. It is therefore recommended an abstention period of 48 hours prior to each collection is provided in order to maximize the number of potentially progressively motile sperm cells.

If you (donor) plan to use your stored sperm specimens with a recipient who is a sexually intimate partner, additional blood testing and medical examination are not required after the FDA-mandated quarantine period (6 months/180-days) as long as the recipient signs a statement of risk.

However, if the specimens may be used by a recipient who may not be a sexually intimate partner, then the donor must undergo another medical examination and blood test upon completion of the 6-month quarantine period.

It is also important to note that some treating physicians will not work with sperm samples that have not undergone the post-quarantine period for infectious disease testing.
